Pretty much like the USN but with sonar. A couple of them can mount 150mm guns so you can spank cruisers, but you pay for that with ordinary turret traverse and reload. Germans are similar to the RN line but the focus is more on the torpedoes. Britsh have the best Destroyer killing Destroyers. They are all quite different and worth using, IMO. 1.

What is the best destroyer nation ... and Shimakaze are good torp boats, but weak on guns. For Destroyers have the biggest game changing powers.

slighlty off the topic try to transfer your captain from previous ship to an other so you can have quickly a lvl 10 captain on any line you grind. I personally like the KMS DDs and am about to unlock the z23..they are just very well rounded and also maxing out Bey for commander inspiration is a must for any DD build except for USN maybe (IMO).. Guns aren’t as great as the USN but they’re not far behind. RN is so balanced, IJN torpedo focus, German can do anything depends on the captain, US gunboats with decent torpedo.

France. Germany and RN are both kind of 'DD hunter' DD's, with sonar. Plus sonar and 6+ smokes. Maybe T8. They don't do huge damage, but they reload fairly quickly, are fast and hard to detect. my eyes bleed.

My favorites are the British and Germans. With very good stealth, maneuverability, and firepower, plus good smoke and excellent torpedoes, she'd be a contender for best tier 10. They are good gun boats it seems like on all tiers, with good traverse and fire rate. Personally I've only actually tried Shimakaze, but …

4 guns that reload fast, not many people take on a a gaede and walk away, IJN, gotta love 11 km torpedoes on a ship that can't be detected until 6km. Royal Navy by far in my opinion. That said, I think RN DDs have the highest skill ceiling and the most potential in the hands of a skilled player. Once the French line is added most of this will change.

For me, the worst are the germans. Russian Destroyers are the king of guns, and the queens of ambush from Island. Takeout the enemy DDs and it makes it so much easier for your team. Powerful guns, good concealment, not the best torpedoes but nothing to be sniffed at, sonar and without a doubt the most useful smoke of all the destroyers. Since they don't hurt other Destroyer, it will teach a new player valuable tactics in gun play. Then use sonar to detect you while in the smoke and shoot you while you can’t see him. Good mix of firepower, concealment, and torp ability. Their torps don’t really have the long ranges of the IJN until you hit T6 and upgrade the Benson. German DD are really good at killing other DD's as some have said. Though they are quite lackluster until tier 6 in my opinion. IJN is the sneakiest of them with the fastest and hardest hitting torps. Almost as sneaky in the t-22 as an ijn boat, 8 km torps and lots of power boosts. why calibur all over the forums, why not "caliber"?

KMS are the "good at everything, great at nothing" boats..which isn't to say they aren't great ships, quite the opposite actually..they have solid guns across the tiers, torp range at least exceeds your detection range by a km or two, and they get a good selection of consumables with smokes, speed boosts, and hydro from tier V and up.. Benson, Fletcher, Jervis, and Lightning are definitely worth it, but RN was less fun to grind. Because they branch out early, so each line has its own tier 6, the best lines to research would be US cruisers (2 tier 6) and US destroyers, Jap destroyers (2 tier 6) and Jap cruisers. Basically what I am getting at is American DDs are a one trick pony but German and British DDs have more tools to work with. What are your all’s favorites and why? Also, the deep water torpedos are fast, and cannot be detected until 1.1 Km on most models, not factoring in torpedo detection skill on captain. Depends on how you like to play.

Not as flexible as the RN ones, not as powerful torp as IJn and not as gunners as USS ones. Overall I think USN. Haven’t finished the German line yet, but they have the strongest AP (which doesn’t count for much on a DD). My only tier 7 is the Lightning and I really enjoy it, Better torps than USN, much better guns than IJN, 6 smokes, 3 sonars that can ruin a smoked up DD's day. Higher tiers have fast reloads, but slow traverse.
